Recycled Furniture

by KamilaSu 19. November 2014 12:41

Did you accumulate a bunch of unnecessary things at home, but you don't want to throw them away? Or maybe you Did you accumulate a bunch of unnecessary things at home, but you don't want to throw them away? Or maybe you just don't like the current consumer society, in which every house and apartment is furnished with brand new furniture from the latest collection. We will inspire you to arrange your apartment tastefully and creatively without having to spend money for conventional accessories.

Recycled chair

If your kids have already grown up and they do not want to sleep on bunk beds when visiting you, feel free to use the bed in the garden or yard, where it can be more useful. If your yard doesn't have a gazebo suitable for afternoon coffee or weekend reading. Simply remove the bottom bunk bed and place it to the appropriate place.

Surely, you often think about what to do with old magazines that you have read all through, and they just take up a lot of space. But how can one use them to make a furniture? It's absolutely simple! Pile up the magazines on a wooden surface to the height that suits you, put a pillow on the top of it, and gird it all with a belt. The chair will surely be useful, when there's more people visiting. Old magazines can also be used as a tables; don't be afraid to be creative.

Use of the old magazines

Students these days surely appreciate that they can easily make a desk for a few dollars just using an ordinary cardboard and their handcrafting skills. You just need to plan it all well ahead. If you are well stocked with cardboard, do not limit yourself just to ordinary desks; cardboard can be used to make various things: coffee tables, chairs or stools; houses for dolls, dogs, cats etc.

Recycled cardboard

It is up to you what way you choose to deal with the waste that you produce daily, but as you can see, even an ordinary box may be used creatively, for example, just using paint.

Novelties in our designer - Changing perspectives in 3D

by KamilaSu 28. October 2014 09:06

Again, we have improved our designer and here comes the novelty. We decided to change not only ours but also your view of the drawings so we have added three different perspectives to the designer in 3D view mode. So now there is a side view, a top view and a view from the first person. Adding these views will greatly facilitate and improve the transparency of the work in the designer. Thanks to the perspective of the first person you will be able to take a stroll in your newly-designed flat and the views from the top and side will provide you with a complete overview of all partitions or furniture.

Where to find a view change and how to handle it?

You can get very easily to the newly added views. Start a designer the way you would usually and start to draw. Or you can choose from one of the pre-drawn plans and adjust it to your liking. In the designer you can always enter the 3D view by clicking on the 3D icon. In this mode you can see three icons of individual views above your plan. These are: side view, top view and a view from the first person. Side view will allow you to look at all the exterior walls. It is appropriate to use it to check the placement of windows and doors. Top view shows you all the internal partitions and disposition of the furniture, so as to assure you that you haven´t forgot anything. You can then check everything "first-hand", thanks to the first person view, which allows you to go for a walk along the designed plan using the arrows.

Of course, it is up to you how you will use the different views. We hope that you will enjoy this novelty and that this intuitive solution will make your work in the designer even more pleasant.

Living in a container? A new trend in the world of housing!

by KamilaSu 22. September 2014 11:06

Modular architecture happens to be one of the new trends of modern living. Formerly used mainly for pragmatic reasons, today it loses the label of boring and tasteless architecture and competes with traditional construction methods mainly due to the speed of its construction, environmental friendliness, reasonable price and high mobility.

The basic building component of this type of construction is called a module which is a construction unit of uniform size. First, it is produced in a plant and then it is transported to the designated plot. Actually, it's kind of semi-finished product delivered by a construction company to chosen place where it is adjusted according to our requirements and needs. Its uniform size allows the modules to be easily combined and opens the door for creativity.

Building inspired by beehive is a modern version of a block of flats:

Well-built modular houses can fit into nature without having to stick out like a sore thumb:

Container architecture is a specific industry that uses steel shipping containers which are used in ship and rail transport over long distances. The main advantage in using such container as a construction component is its low cost and optimum size. Currently, containers are used mostly for the construction of public spaces. You can have a coffee with a friend in a container cafe, have a dinner in a container restaurant or shop for clothes in a movable container shop (http://www.remodelista.com/posts/10-stores-housed-in-shipping-containers).

by KamilaSu 16. July 2014 10:12

We constantly strive to improve our website and designer for you and offer you way more options when creating floor plans. Also this time we have prepared a few novelties. Firstly, we have added new types of floors and carpets that you can insert into your plans. This wider range of floorings and coverings allows you to choose floors according to your own taste and change it arbitrarily.

Arrow indicating the entrance

Secondly, we have added an option to put an arrow onto your plan indicating the main entrance to the apartment or house. Thanks to the arrow everybody can easily recognise the main entrance on the plan. Arrow simplifies the overall orientation of the floor plan and allows you to visualise the entrance and the entire property more easily.

by Barbora S. 10. January 2014 12:56

We weren't idle during the holidays and we are starting off the new year bringing you two innovations. The first one is an extension of floor menu. We have added 12 different types of parquets, carpets and wooden flooring. So right now you can choose from 74 types of floors according to your taste, which are suitable in various rooms of your apartment, when drawing your floor plans.

The other innovation we have developed for you is a compass thanks to which you can orient in space more easily and determine the cardinal directions which play an important role in interior planning and design. Orientation according to the points of compass does not only influence the Feng shui energy flowing through the space but also the amount of sunshine entering the rooms during the day. The compass in FloorPAD will remind you of the cardinal directions during the whole process of planning and designing and will help you make the right decisions.

Note: To place a compass to a floor plan chose an item Compass from the Misc category (left-side menu). Consequently, you’ll be able to steer the compass.
